The University at Buffalo—New York's largest public university—is a uniquely strategic mission field, drawing a majority of its students from New York City and hosting a significant international population that often makes up 15–25% of the campus. The result is a level of cultural and spiritual diversity that makes UB feel, in many ways, like a different country , bringing the nations to one place with a wide range of beliefs, backgrounds, and questions about faith. In the midst of this, H2O Church exists to love God more today than we did yesterday —calling Christians to continual growth in their walk with Jesus, and inviting those who don't yet believe to take steps toward Him, growing in their understanding of the gospel and ultimately surrendering their lives to Christ. The need for gospel workers here is high, and our current team's bandwidth is limited, creating real opportunity for others to step in. Whether through internships, residencies, or long-term ministry roles, there is meaningful space for new staff to invest in students, build relationships, and be part of what God is doing on this campus.
We're excited that you are considering joining us at H2O Buffalo through Reliant! Reliant is a faith-based nonprofit that partners with missional churches and Gospel-centered nonprofits to mobilize support-based missionaries for the Great Commission. Through Reliant, we provide missionaries with the resources, training, and support needed to thrive in their calling, including the critical process of raising financial and prayer support. Whether you're pursuing a short-term internship, a long-term residency, or a career in ministry, we are here to support and guide you every step of the way.
