About the Role

An exhilarating challenge for a Backend Software Engineer has become available at Universal. We seek a Back-end Software Engineer who is ready to take on an adventure in creating world-class and most cutting-edge software applications for the healthcare industry. As Universal works at the forefront of an industry characterised by rapidly evolving technologies and has embarked on a fresh strategic direction, the successful candidate will be working in an exciting and dynamic environment, and with a global team.

What you will be doing:

· Produce high quality software that is well-designed, fault tolerant and maintainable.

· Design solutions to which are innovative, scalable with exceptional performance.

· Collaborate with team members to come up with the best solutions for the product design.

· Work with a team that will value your insights and unique abilities

What you will need:

· At least 5 years’ work experience as a software engineer working primarily on backend development

· Preference will be given to candidates with experience in healthcare, healthtech and/or other high availability real time systems, such as finance, fintech, and the like.

· Experience the following technologies:

o Python development (5yrs)

o SqlAlchemy (2yrs)

o Flask or Django (1yr)

o Microservices (2yr)

o Docker (4yrs)

o Kubernetes (1yr)

o Google Cloud Platform or AWS (1yr)

o Kafka (1yr)

o SQL/RDBMS (4yrs)

o MongoDB (1yr)

o Some Dev/Ops experience (1/2yr)

o Neo4j or Graph DB experience as a plus

o gRPC

o PostgreSQL

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent 4- year degree major); preference will be given to candidates with post-graduate degrees (e.g. Masters Degrees)
