Job Description
SUMMARY Universal is in the process of implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365, a next-generation financial software platform, across its global organization in a multi-phase rollout. The Financial Systems Analyst is an important position and will be responsible for business systems analysis leading the organization's successful migration, transition, and adaptation to the new Dynamics 365 platform. The selected candidate will analyze, design, refine, improve, and implement effective use and functioning of the system after migration. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Develop a strong working knowledge of the functional design of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform across all transactional modules, as well as specific customizations incorporated by Universal in its deployment. Over a reasonable period, drawing on work product created by the Company during the implementation effort, catalog and document complete transaction flows through the system to serve as an ongoing resource for new and existing users. -Develop a comprehensive understanding of the reporting capabilities of the Dynamics 365 platform, including standard system reports and customized reports. Become proficient in creating reports using Dynamics Management Reporter, Fastpath reports, and Atlas reports. Assist users in developing reports as necessary. Maintain a comprehensive catalog of system reports. -Perform standard system support functions, such as: -Providing overall business analysis and design of the Universal implementation of Dynamics 365 -Adding and removing users -Creating new user security profiles and managing existing profiles -Setting up new entities -Adding new customers and vendors to global system master files -Adding new items to the item master file (e.g., supplies and finished goods inventory items) -Adding new accounts to the general ledger chart of accounts -Creating and maintaining automated general ledger posting profiles for system transactions -Troubleshooting problems or error situations encountered by users of the system -Other system support and monitoring as needed. -Become familiar with and provide effective support for all deployed Dynamics environments (development, test, training, production, etc.). -Assist in managing all requirements for planning, testing, validating, scheduling and installing Microsoft updates to the Dynamics 365 environment. -Participate in incorporating refinements, incremental transactional processes, and expanded capabilities in the system following the initial implementation based on user needs, experiences, and suggestions. -Participate in developing a workable plan to provide 24/7 support for the Dynamics 365 platform across Universal locations as the global deployment progresses and is completed. -Perform or assist with all other tasks and responsibilities as necessary to effectively support the availability and reliable functioning of the Dynamics 365 system platform for users across all Universal operating locations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS -Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, finance, or information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. -Minimum of 2 years of business analysis experience with exposure to one or more of the following business areas; accounting, financial reporting, and/or audit experience required. -Minimum of 2 years of experience with some ERP functional systems administrator responsibilities for financial and/or accounting systems is required. -Prior experience working within the requirements of a formal change management process is required. -Prior experience using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations platform is preferred. -Prior experience using the Atlas report writing tool is preferred. -Prior experience working within Sarbanes Oxley governed processes and procedures is preferred. -Certified Public Accountant is preferred. -Flexibility to work extra hours when needed to provide critical operational support for the Dynamics 365 platform and to support the continued global rollout of the platform through future phases. -Flexibility and willingness to accommodate occasional travel, both international and domestic, if needed for effective support of the Dynamics 365 platform. -Able to demonstrate a great attention to detail, and ability to solve problems utilizing existing resources and personal initiative. -Able to stay organized while working to complete multiple tasks with effective focus and prioritization.
