Our Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) Internship Program gives you more than a glimpse behind-the-scenes of a working theme park – here you can get the chance to make a real impact on our business. The Mechanical Engineering Intern provides support to sustaining engineering activities for theme park attractions (rides and shows). Duties include assisting Engineers with complex downtime investigation, reverse engineering, and other engineering tasks as required to ensure daily operational readiness of attractions. Additional duties include supporting re-design and development efforts for mechanical/structural systems of theme park rides and attractions. Some projects will require interfacing with Technicians, Management, Operations, Entertainment, and/or outside vendors.
All work shall be in conformance with ASTM F24 Committee guidelines and compliant with applicable codes, regulations and standards including: AISC, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, JIC, NEC, and OSHA, among others.
This role has exposure to multiple different ride and show systems spanning multiple decades, each with its unique fun and challenges.

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
