Job Description
A Universal Worker is responsible for providing personal care and other assistance in the assisted living facility. Universal Workers may be called upon to help residents in and out of bed, and with dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, toileting, feeding and bathing. Universal Workers will be called upon to provide certain basic treatments, assist with medications and take resident vital signs as requested by the Assisted Living Nurse Manager. Additionally, Universal Workers will be requested to help with housekeeping and laundry tasks as assigned by the Assisted Living Nurse Manager. Universal workers are responsible for observing and reporting changes in residents’ physical and emotional conditions to the Assisted Living Nurse Manager. Excellent communication and team skills are needed. May be required to work a variety of shifts depending on tenant needs.

Qualifications
High school graduate or GED preferred. All applicants must be at least 16 years old. Medication Aide certification is required. Completion of a seventy-five-hour nurse aide course is required. Universal Workers must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English. Failure to maintain certification as a nursing assistant will result in termination.
