  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Learn to evaluate, select and begin to apply engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to various engineering tasks under the guidance of a senior level Engineer.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Responsibilities may include: engineering calculations, studies, detailed design, report writing, field investigations
    • Interacts with other engineers and drafters to ensure project completion
    • Responsible for the quality of the work, and adherence to deadlines for the assigned tasks
    • Selects and applies engineering principles and concepts in field of specialization
    • Performs most tasks under direct supervision
    • Responsible for following corporate safety protocols

    Complexity, Decision-Making, Problem-Solving & Nature of Impact (i.e., Scope):

    • Conforms to and utilizes established design and quality standards for project deliverables
    • Follows direction and supports efforts of project team
    • Applies established project design approach
    • Demonstrates proficiency in technical subjects

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to learn new techniques and software
    • Possesses entry level technical skills
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workload

    Management Responsibilities:

    • None

    Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications):

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required
    • FE (EIT) is required
    • Zero to two years related engineering experience
    • Ability to work with engineering software packages a plus
    • Microsoft Office experience preferred

    Environment/Working Conditions:

    • Most work to be performed in office environment with periodic visits to project sites and/or short term field assignments
    • Some travel required

    Other Considerations/Requirements:

    • Ability to sit for long periods of time; manual dexterity; may stand for prolonged periods of time, walk and/or climb through various types of terrain where balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching may be required
    • Valid driver’s license required

    Reporting Relationship:

    • Reports to Sr. Engineer, Lead Engineer or Project Manager
