    We are seeking candidates to join our Printing Department as a PRESS HELPER/LOAD TURNER/AERATOR.     HOURS: 10PM - 6AM

    JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for operating our Aerator equipment which assists in cleaning and preparing the stock for our die cutting and printing presses

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    • Using schedule, retrieves appropriate stock
    • Unwraps load and positions in aerator
    • Clamps load, flips load, removes pallet
    • Operates aerator
    • Replaces pallet with plastic press pallet
    • Tags load
    • Distributes aerated stock to appropriate operations
    • Transports stock to and from aerator using hand jacks, electric pallet jacks or forklift
    • Performs other related duties as assigned
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • Manufacturing experience preferred
    • Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts preferred
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

     

    SKILLS:

    • LANGUAGE SKILLS
      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
      • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • REASONING ABILITY
      • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • MECHANICAL
    • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
      • Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s License

     

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

     

    • SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Schedules can be up to 12-hour shifts Mondays – Sundays (particularly if mode/continuous run schedule). However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends for coverage and be punctual while doing so.

    • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work upwards of 7 days a week for upwards of 60+ hours per week

    • Standing and walking frequently (34-66% of the time), depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods

    • Awkward and/or repetitive movements

    • Ability to bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder and reach at waist or lower, twist, stretch, carry (up to 28 lbs), kneel, grasp, fingering, and push/pull (force up to 50 lbs for 200 feet) occasionally

    • Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently (from floor to waist) and lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally

    • Requires use of both feet on a continuous basis

    • Requires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions on a continuous basis

    • Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basis

    • Ability to make independent decisions, apply reasoning and discern colors

    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices

    • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment

    • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature and loud noises

    • PPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net, Beard Net
