    Stamford Health is currently seeking an ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD (EMR) TRAINING AND IMPLEMENTATION SPECIALIST interested in joining the Information Services department for a full-time opportunity.  The EMR Training and Implementation Specialist is responsible for application training, implementation support and post go-live optimization process for physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff. Responsibilities include curriculum development, creation of training materials, application build, application testing, issue investigation, problem resolution, practice EMR optimization and promotion of training sessions. The primary focus of this role is the implementation, ongoing training and workflow optimization.

     

    EMR Training and Implementation Specialist responsibilities include:

    • Schedule and instructs clinical and non-clinical staff on the appropriate use of software applications for their role.

    • Active participation on implementation teams, including practice assessment, workflow analysis, application and interface/data exchange testing, go-live preparations and support, and problem resolution.

    • Develops and maintains training curriculum, content, examples and materials to support the education process

    • Provides advancement of clinical applications, interfaces, system upgrades, data migration and reports through effective implementation of solutions, which support the user and application needs of the organization.

    • Acts as a liaison to management, support team, staff and vendors to ensure that issues brought up during training, implementation and post go-live optimizations are researched and resolved in a timely fashion.

    • Provides advancement of clinical applications, interfaces, system upgrades, data migration and reports through effective implementation of solutions, which support the user and application needs of the organization.

    • Qualified EMR Training and Implementation candidates will possess:

    • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in education, nursing /healthcare related field, or a computer science/information technology/informatics related field with 5 years of experience in healthcare.

    • Strong, demonstrable experience providing customer service and training. Experience with EMR/EHR application preferred. Experience with eClinical Works application is strongly preferred.

    • Effective oral and written communication skills. Expertise in healthcare business processes and associated clinical application software. Knowledge of MS Office. Ability to effectively motivate clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels.

    • Quickly learn new computer applications and apply computer based concepts to clinical processes. Ensure the integrity of data and maintain confidentiality of all related information.

    • Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.

    • Experience in a medical group setting or ambulatory setting strongly preferred.

  • Qualifications
    • Communicates effectively both written and orally with customers, other co-workers and clients.
    • Knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
    • High-level knowledge of accounting functions and their interaction: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Payroll.
    • Understand tax laws and other federal and state compliance laws.
    • Proficient in computer operations.
    • Must be proficient in Excel (to include usage of pivot tables, embedded sumif statements, vlookups, if/or statements and filters)
    • Knowledge of the budget process including operational, capital and cash flows budgets.
    • Knowledge of allocation techniques and applications, cost analysis.
    • Knowledge of and experience with financial analysis performance indicators, variance analysis and budget monitoring.
