    Stamford Health is seeking an detail oriented, organized individual with great interpersonal skills to join our team as a FINANCIAL COUNSELOR. The ideal candidate provides assistance to all uninsured or underinsured patients with an inability to pay, to determine if they qualify for any Federal, State, or internal Stamford Hospital Financial Assistance Programs.  The FINANCIAL COUNSELOR will update the Hospital Information System (HIS) and other workload flow tools with any new, corrected, or pertinent information in relation to resolution of patient accounts.  The counselor must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with the Department of Social Services (DSS), other internal hospital department representatives, patients and/or their advocates.

     

    FULL-TIME, MONDAY-FRIDAY 9AM-5PM

    Required Skills

     

     

    Required Experience

    • High School Graduate, some college or business school training, and or two years prior equivalent experience in a business setting is preferred.
    • Computer literacy in a PC environment. 
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
    • Notary preferred.
