    YOUR CAREER

    As a UX Researcher & Design Strategist Intern at the Palo Alto Innovation & Research center (PAIR), you will work with the  team on impactful research projects for our flagship products, assist in the development of research operations processes,  and evangelize the importance of research throughout the company. You’ll use design thinking methods, cutting-edge UX Research processes, and collaboration to develop and deliver impactful insight.  For this role, we're looking for individuals with qualitative and research skills, and  some experience in using quantitative research methods.

    YOUR IMPACT

    • Collaborate closely with the UXR team, designers, product managers, and engineers to develop a research plan
    • Participate in aspects of a research project such as: write a discussion guide, perform interview sessions, synthesize findings
    • Communicate research findings to inform business decisions through rich storytelling via the best medium for the audience (e.g. presentation, reports, workshops and any other novel, creative approach)
    • Develop new tools, process, and practices to advance design research and design strategy at the Palo Alto Networks
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    YOUR EXPERIENCE

    • B.A./B.S. in Psychology, Human Factors, HCI, Design, Interaction Design, Social Sciences, Anthropology, or equivalent research-adjacent degree
    • Previous experience conducting research via coursework, projects or internship
    • Experience combining quantitative and quantitative research methodologies and applied multi-method research
    • Experience balancing multiple varied projects at once while performing at a high level

    Preferred 

    • Currently pursuing Masters or doctorate  in Psychology, Human Factors, Design, HCI, Computer Science, or Social Sciences, Business, Anthropology, or equivalent
    • Background in working with design thinking/design strategy frameworks
    • Professional or academic experience with B2B products, cyber security, technical products, etc.

We are a small dynamic team of researchers and strategists who are on the cutting-edge of design research practices so you’ll have the opportunity to wear many hats, explore new skills, build culture and practice and have a front seat to our formative product decisions. You will work side-by-side with UX designers and the product management team, as well as engineers.
