    UCSF Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences Vice Chair of Equity, Inclusion, and Structural Change The role of the Vice Chair of Equity, Inclusion, and Structural Change is to collaborate to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Department of Ob, Gyn & RS leading to a dynamic and inclusive environment that fulfills the missions of clinical care, service, research, education, and advocacy. The Vice Chair is empowered to create recommendations for addressing and eliminating inequities in sexual and reproductive health across the lifespan, utilizing community-led and informed recommendations as a model. The Vice Chair, in consultation with the Department Chair, is charged with: - Elevating a strategic vision for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the department of Ob, Gyn & RS; - Advancing health equity in our clinical services and in the communities we serve; - Building a culture and infrastructure that enables a data-driven approach for continuous improvement and accountability around DEI efforts; - Promoting boundary-spanning and collaborative partnerships and leveraging university resources, and - Supporting the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse faculty, staff, and learner community, focusing on the promotion of a supportive and accountable climate The Vice Chair of Equity, Inclusion, and Structure Change will have protected time from clinical work funded by the Department of Ob, Gyn & RS and reports to the Department Chair. The Vice Chair advances the department on four equity fronts and the responsibilities/deliverables are intended to be implemented over the course of the 3-year term with specific one-year goals set in collaboration with the Chair. This scope of work will be addressed in collaboration with a similarly resourced staff position. Qualifications Candidates must have a MD, DO, or PhD. A full-time faculty member of our department, ideally the faculty member would be at the Associate Professor level or higher, who has demonstrated experience, proven track-record with, and commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, and health equity. Specific Responsibilities/Deliverables To create and execute a department-wide assessment of current DEI efforts with particular focus on assessing the status of those with marginalized identities across these four pillars: Pillar 1: Systems of Accountability: Create and empower an ongoing strategic committee to continuously review and revise VCs and department leaders' DEI activities based on a series of metrics determined by the committee through shared leadership. Pillar 2: Recruitment and Retention of UIM Staff, Learners, and Faculty Pillar 3: Achieving Health Equity in Our Department: Support the department in addressing and eliminating healthcare disparities by enforcing accountability and providing resources in our clinical and research arenas. Pillar 4: Building Relationships and Aligning DEI Efforts Presenting a transparent report of findings and deliverables to the Ob, Gyn & RS department.
