  • Responsibilities

    This position will support SSC Pacific's AS-4775/U Broadband Communications Antenna, U.S. Army Wolfhound Direction Finding Antenna, Ships Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE MODS) system and High Gain Information Operation (HGIO) Antenna. The proposed technical effort is to aid the development of RF and antenna systems currently configured for US Navy fielded systems that are in an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) environment.  The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise to work from schematics, engineering drawings, written or verbal instructions to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies with shipboard and shore Antennae and Antenna Systems.  Work shall include recommending changes or modifications to improve the operation or the quality of electronic and/or mechanical products and equipment.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 6+ years of specific experience with RF communications and/or radar systems
    • Proof of supporting technical schools, whether military or civilian.
    • While not required, Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline is desirable.
    • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires U.S. Citizenship status.
    • Must have and maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain or reestablish this level of clearance

    • Demonstrated ability to determine methods, operations and sequences in setting procedures for constructing, testing, troubleshooting, repair processing, and modifying electronic and mechanical products and equipment as required.
    • Ability to operate and maintain portable and non-portable RF electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, measuring and control equipment, microwave amplifiers, transmission lines, power supplies, network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and antenna systems.
    • Understand and have the ability to create and maintain test documents. Understanding of military specifications related to build, test and system checkout of electronic systems, specifically MIL-STD-454.
    • Have the ability to build, assemble and test RF cables, power and control cables; build be able to solder and assemble PCB board in accordance to schematics.
    • Ability to review and understand system mechanical drawings for the following systems:
      • AS-4775/U MIDS-JTRS Shipboard Antenna
      • US Army Wolfhound Direction Finding Antenna
      • AS-4710/U HGIO Antenna for SSEE MODS

    While specific system knowledge is not required, having similar system experience is highly desired. This position will require working closely with engineers and machinists of various disciplines supporting leading edge technology up to and including ongoing engineering support in a developmental environment. This work is currently on a long term and stable contract with the U.S. Navy.
