  • Responsibilities

     

    Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and direction for all Maintenance Mechanics, Electricians, and Facilities Maintenance and contract personnel over all 3 shifts at Arrow Road and Rowntree Dairy Rd to ensure the company safety, quality and production standards are maintained while minimizing maintenance costs and unscheduled downtime, consistent with Knoll values and objectives.

    Required Skills

     

    • Maintain a clean, safe working environment throughout entire facility. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.

    • Required to support or complete safety audits/inspections, LOTO compliance, investigations of incidents / accidents, job safety analysis and conduct safety meetings, subcontractor safety awareness, and complete necessary reports.

    • Accomplishes results through maintenance staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and reviewing job results; coaching and counseling associates; initiating, coordinating, d oversees systems, policies, and procedures.

    • Liaising with suppliers and contractors to order parts, schedule repairs.

    • Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, training, and developing personal growth opportunities.

    • Seek accountability and ownership from skilled trade members.

    • Maintains maintenance work order system by monitoring steps of the process; setting standards; observing equipment condition; monitoring personnel, subcontractors, and resources; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to equipment and process malfunctions; fostering a cooperative spirit within and between departments.

    • Ensure department meets its measurable goals (KPIs), monitor maintenance processes and PM’s to ensure correct procedures are followed.

    • Analyze current and future cost savings opportunities.

    • Evaluate source and provide corrective actions for equipment problems.

    • Provide support for manufacturing engineering and production teams.

    • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

    Required Experience

    • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred, Licensed Millwright or Electrician, or equivalent combination of technical experience and post-secondary education

    • 3-5 years previous supervisory experience

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    • Strong sense of emergency to complete repairs and minimize break down time.

    • Demonstrated problem solving skills with proven ability to facilitate group meetings.

    • Proven knowledge of CNC manufacturing equipment, controls, and procedures.

    • Knowledge of fundamental Safety principles for an industrial work environment

    • Highly developed experience in team building, process improvement, conflict resolution, motivating Lean manufacturing knowledge & implementation.

    • Knowledge of ISO 14001/9001 required.

    • Strong background with Maintenance Management Software systems – preferably Maximo
