    JOB DESCRIPTION/ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS 

    Set up and operate machinery to pierce, notch, form or weld sheet metal.  Set up and operate multi-point or gun welder per blueprint specifications.  perform preventative maintenance and keep records as required.  Additional job functions explained during interview.

     

    MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES (MBO'S)

    Each year the Coil Hanger-Crane Operator will coordinate with the Manufacturing Supervisor the specific results, improvements, or accomplishments required to support Knoll department and site objectives. 

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Unloading Coil w/ Crane
    • Pulling Coil for Pressroom
    • Maintaining coil inventory (Computer System)
    • Hanging Coil on the coil reels
      • Removing Banding, dunnage, and 5S.
    • De-hanging partial Coil from coil reels
      • Re-banding to proper specifications
      • Weighing Coil
      • Inventory Issue
    • Put-away of coil into warehouse
    • Maintain Inventory Control Process
    • Support Cycle Count Requirements

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS                                                                                                                                                 

    Must be able to stand for long periods of time.  Bend and twist at the waist frequently.  Push and pull with a force up to 55 pounds frequently. Have good eye and hand coordination.  Lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.  Must be flexible to work in many different environments including hot and cold temperatures.  Work around moving machines.  Wear safety equipment.

     

    TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    This position is subject to a skills-based, hands-on testing evaluation.  Approximately 6 months upon starting the position, associates must pass the approved test in order to maintain their status in the position.

    Required Skills

    •  TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: Strong verbal & written communication skills, analytical, motivated to solve problems, solid organizational skills, working knowledge of inventory management programs.
    •  INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: Manufacturing/ Overhead Crane/ Inventory experience

    Required Experience

    • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED), or work experience which demonstrates performance competency.
    • Intermediate level of JDE, System knowledge, must be able to inventory with a high level of accuracy.
