    SUPERVISES:           Student Affairs Staff

    POSITION SUMMARY:    

    Chief student affairs administrator responsible for providing leadership, vision, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the departments housed in the Student Affairs division.  These departments include but may not be limited to: admissions, registration and records; testing; financial aid; recruitment and orientation; dean of students; advising and career services; counseling; the student success center; disability and equity; student life; and military and veteran’s services.

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops, implements and evaluates a comprehensive enrollment management plan in collaboration with departments and colleagues across the institution.
    • Provides leadership for the development of innovative and inclusive recruitment strategies.
    • Ensures that student affairs offices are prepared for and committed to serving the unique and diverse needs of the college’s students by providing a variety of student services and programs that promote student success, learning and development.
    • Leads the collaborative efforts across the college to design and implement a guided pathways model of student engagement, success and completion.
    • Provides oversight for student affairs departments by staffing, planning and evaluating the directors and managers of the departments.
    • Provides leadership for federal compliance with Clery, Title IX, FERPA, Title IV, and other federal compliance requirements.
    • Uses data to develop goals and objectives for student affairs departments to assist the college in achieving its strategic goals.
    • Uses both quantitative and qualitative data disaggregated by race to assess the division’s impact on diverse populations and to close equity gaps.
    • Guides the development and implementation of assessment for student affairs programs.
    • Serves as a member of the College Leadership Team which collaborates to implement the college’s strategic plan, develop the college budget, and advise the president.
    • Advises the President on all matters pertaining to the out-of-class student experience at CCA.
    • Designs and implements a student affairs organizational structure to effectively accomplish the college’s strategic goals including overseeing the recruitment, training, supervision, professional development, and evaluation of division staff.
    • Oversees the budget for Student Affairs and make budget decisions in concert with other senior leaders and consistent with overall college goals.
    • Develops, reviews and monitors compliance with CCCS policies and System President’s Procedures pertaining to student affairs.
    • Serves as the college’s representative on the CCCS Vice President’s Council and other committees, boards and councils as assigned.
    • Provides student-centered leadership that values inclusive excellence, promotes equity, and supports campus-wide efforts to increase student retention, success, and completion.
    • Promotes positive student relations by maintaining effective lines of communication with student leaders and serving as a strong advocate for the co-curricular needs of students. Attends and supports student events.
    • Serves as a member of the college’s emergency planning committee to ensure the safety of students, employees and visitors to CCA’s campuses.
    • Supports positive relations for the college by becoming involved with community and civic organizations on behalf of the college.
    • Remains active in professional development and scholarship in the student affairs profession.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
    • Significant higher education administrative experience in student affairs.
    • Experience working at a Hispanic Serving institution, Minority Serving institution or at colleges or in programs serving diverse students.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with many types of individuals and the ability to write clearly and persuasively;
    • Supervisory experience with staff at a director level or above.
    • Record of successful planning, budget management, and goal achievement.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ph.D., Ed.D. or related terminal degree from an accredited institution.
    • Community college experience.
    • Experience creating and implementing a guided pathways structure.
    • Experience with assessment of student learning in student affairs and co-curricular programs.

     

    INITIAL START DATE: January 1st, 2020.

     

    ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE:  $110,000.00 – $125,000.00. The specific salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan. Leave and holiday benefits are also included.

  • Qualifications

     

    • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Engineering preferred; 10+ years of Information Technology (IT)-related experience; or the equivalent combination of knowledge, training, and experience.
    • Knowledge of The Open Group Architecture Framework, Federal Enterprise Architecture, Zachman, Information Technology Infrastructure Library; Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge; Relevant certifications preferred.
    • Expert in Data Modeling (Unified Modeling Language, Object-Relational Mapping, Erwin and PowerDesigner).
    • Proficient in Requirements Analysis Planning and Database Management.
    • Expert knowledge of information systems.
    • Demonstrated deep understanding of databases and analytics, including relational databases (i.e. IBM Relational Database DB2, SQL Server, Oracle).
    • Knowledge of data warehousing tools and solutions.
    • Knowledge of NoSQL (i.e. Cassandra, Hadoop Database HBase).
    • Demonstrated proficiency in enterprise data movement using business intelligence tools
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
