    12-week Summer Internship

    May 23rd – August 12th or June 20th – September 9th

    WHAT LOCATIONS TO EXPECT:

    Locations of individual opportunities are determined by the business and therefore to be interested in on our opportunities you must be open to relocation for the duration of the 12-week internship. All 2022 interns will be assigned to an office location.

    Relocation is provided to any candidate who is located more than 50 miles outside of the assigned office location.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 18 years of age by April 30th, 2022
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must be actively enrolled in University/College course credits. GAP year students are ineligible.
    • External applicants eligible only. Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for UofMagenta Internships.
    • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work. The CDC defines "fully vaccinated" as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. T-Mobile will require proof of vaccination and consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not cause T-Mobile undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.

    Responsibilities may Include:

    • Align with FP&A (internal) and DTAG Roaming to ensure negotiated discounts are properly included in company forecasts at both TMUS and DTAG level.
    • Monitor and compare agreement terms to roaming partner deliverables to ensure roaming partners (and T-Mobile) meet committed traffic and revenue goals and T-Mobile meets its forecast.
    • Monitor and support leadership efforts to drive performance of Roaming team sponsored initiatives to ensure they deliver on financial commitments, including: Roaming Overbuild, Home-Rerouting, Traffic Steering, Excessive Roamer Reduction, and others.
    • Support negotiators to assess accounting impacts of new discount structures, calculate/validate any settlements or interim true-ups, and track the commercial effect of steering, alerting negotiators of the need for a discount in challenging countries.
    • Prioritize service launches based on financial and strategic objectives.
    • Coach functional groups at T-Mobile on the value Roaming brings to the company so that it becomes an integral part of all relevant service offerings and the Roaming team receives the required internal support.
    • Experience in financial modeling and analysis, including forecasting, impact assessment, trend analysis, and reporting.
    • Experience developing business cases to support initiatives.
    • Knowledge of wireless industry and GSM Roaming a plus.

    The Roaming Analyst will track and manage the financial and operational performance of the Roaming business, and provide analytical support to the Roaming team to make financially sound decisions. Major duties include: tracking and monitoring performance of discount agreements against expectations. Providing FP&A forecast support as new discounts and initiatives develop over time. Monitoring performance of Roaming team sponsored initiatives, including Roaming Overbuild, Excessive Roamer Reduction, Home Re-Routing, and Steering. Prioritizing service launches based on financial and strategic objectives. Supporting negotiators to determine accounting effects of discount structures, calculate settlements and/or true-ups, and track commercial effects of steering on discount negotiations. Monitoring discount expirations and direct billing team to make appropriate changes. Supporting Sr. Business Manager in developing team financial targets, coordinating with Accounting, FP&A and DTAG, and creating scenario analyses for offers, products and initiatives. The Roaming Analyst will work with team members with diverse cultural backgrounds, both locally and in Bonn, to ensure financial performance is properly managed against the strategic and financial goals of the Roaming business.
