    Title: Continuous Improvement Leader - Supply Chain
    Location: Detroit, Michigan area
    Pay Range: $110-$120K Base + Bonus

    Our client is a leading distributor of wholesale residential and commercial building materials who is adding this position due to their rapid growth over the last 5 or so years.

    Company Overview

    • Has been a leader in the industry for close to 100 years.
    • They have a total of 18 distribution points to allow them to get products to their customers quickly.
    • Well financed and stable organization that is adding this role due to growth.
    • Acquired 2 new companies roughly 5 years ago to enhance the offerings and services they provide their clients and looking to continue to make acquisitions that make sense for the company.

    Position Summary

    • As the Continuous Improvement Leader, you will have the opportunity to really put your stamp on this organization's process and distribution network.
    • The position will implement process improvement initiatives throughout the company’s Supply Chain Operations Department and assist the team with administrative and project coordination activities.
    • Assess current distribution methods and practices, evaluate and establish processes and procedures to streamline process and help eliminate waste cost in the Supply Chain.
    • This is a new role for the company and the goal is to eventually build a department that this person will lead.
    • Main responsibilities will involve project execution, Change Management, some project management and mentoring and training coworkers on new processes/procedures , etc.
    • This position will be under the direct supervision of the COO.

    Skills/Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent field of study in Supply Chain or Business Operations preferred.
    • Lean Six Sigma Certification (any level) is strongly preferred. (PMP certification is a huge plus)
    • Previous experience working in a fast paced , distribution network creating major process improvement and change initiatives.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Must be team player and collaborative personality.
    • Job will require regular autonomous decision making and multi department interaction.
