    Upbound staffing is focused on employment and created in partnership with the Autism Alliance of Michigan. We specialize in serving individuals with ASD or neurodevelopmental disorders and connecting them with employment opportunities. With this, we have professionals who will develop and support candidates throughout the hiring process, transition into work, and during the first year of employment to ensure a successful employment experience.

     

    Job Title: Production -Inserts

    Location: Grand Rapids, MI

    Description: 

    Ensures all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. The goal is to produce a quality product. Attention to detail is required to be successful at this position.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • •Reads and comprehends instructions and follows established procedures.
    • Verifies there is all the material and equipment needed to begin the process.
    • Takes measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
    • Selects or modifies components according to measurements and specifications.
    • Aligns material and puts together parts to build more complex units. 
    • Checks output to ensure highest quality.
    • Maintains equipment and workspace is in good condition.
    • Inputs production quantities and time data.
    • Reports on issues, malfunction, or defective parts.
    • Tears down and remakes boxes.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Must possess great manual dexterity and have good hand strength.
    • Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, and blueprints etc.
    • Ability to frequently use your hands to grasp, squeeze.
    • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, engineer grade tape measures (includes decimals) etc.
    • Ability in using simple machinery such as a bladder machine, and stuffing machine.
    • Ability to use power air tools, clamps, etc.
    • Ability to work with fiberglass.
    • Good understanding of quality control principles.
    • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
    • Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team.

    Status: FT (1st Shift)

    Hours per week: 40

    REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

    EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt (Union UAW Hourly)

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Standing for entire shift.

    • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

    • Able to twist, bend, stoop as needed.

    • Exposure to glue fumes.

    • Safety glasses are required.
