Job Title: CW ADAS Evaluation Engineer II

Description:
This automotive company's Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) Division is looking for a passionate and highly motivated ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) and ADS (Automated Driving Systems) Evaluation Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the IVS division objectives to:
- Evaluate and analyze ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) functions against performance requirements.
- Support the development of new performance targets and requirements.
- Communicate performance issues to through project leaders to suppliers & Toyota global counterparts, proposing appropriate countermeasures where needed.
- Implement quantitative benchmarking methods for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) on competitor vehicles using GPS, camera, or other sensors.
- Configure, modify and troubleshoot test vehicles, sensors and data acquisition equipment.
- Complete data gathering evaluations on public roads and proving grounds.
- Analyze test data and make performance change recommendations to the system owners through project leaders.
Requirements:
- Professional experience installing, troubleshooting, and using data acquisition & testing equipment in vehicles.
- Basic proficiency in creating or modifying tools and/or scripts to automatically analyze data using MATLAB, Python, C++, or other similar programming languages.
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical area.
- 2+ years of professional experience evaluating ADS or ADAS systems on vehicles.
- Professional experience driving vehicles on proving grounds.
- 1+ year of experience in 2 or more of the following sensors: machine vision cameras, radar, lidar, sonar.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% (US domestic).
- A valid US Drivers’ License.
Status: Long term contract
Hours per week: 40
Compensation range: 29.50/hr
Remote option: this position may require up to 100% on-site attendance in the office, on proving grounds, or other locations
