Sales Manager – Upscale Historic Event Space

About the Venue
Located in the heart of the vibrant Gordon Square Arts District, our venue is a beautifully renovated historic space that defines "industrial luxury." We host an average of 60 high-end events annually, ranging from bespoke weddings to exclusive corporate retreats. We are looking for a motivated Sales Manager to be the face of our brand and the engine behind our booking calendar.
The Role
This is a high-visibility sales role for someone who loves the Cleveland event scene and knows how to close a deal. You will manage the entire sales lifecycle—from the moment a lead hits our inbox to the final contract signature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Conversion: Respond to inquiries and convert high-intent leads into booked events.
- Tours & Showings: Conduct polished, professional tours of our renovated space, highlighting its unique history and premium amenities.
- Pipeline Development: Actively network within the Cleveland corporate and bridal communities to bring in new business.
- Contracting: Manage all sales documentation, deposits, and initial planning hand-offs.
- Marketing Support: Assist in local community engagement and social media presence to keep the venue "top of mind" in the West Side market.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years of sales experience in hospitality, catering, or luxury events.
- The "Closer" Mentality: Proven track record of hitting sales targets and managing a high volume of inquiries.
- Local Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Cleveland market (specifically the West Side/Gordon Square area) is a major plus.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; you must be comfortable pitching to C-suite executives and wedding planners alike.
- Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends for tours or event kick-offs.
Benefits & Compensation
We offer a stable base with an aggressive upside for those who produce results:
- Base Salary: $65,000.00 per year.
- Commission: 1% – 2% of gross sales on all newly contracted business.
- Total Target: Realistic Year 1 earnings of $80k – $90k based on our current 60-event annual average.
