    We're looking for a full stack SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our team and help us identify and solve our customers most pressing problems.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Architect and write elegant, efficient, and testable code that performs at scale
    • Work closely with the engineering, UX Design, and product team to identify customer needs and help create production ready software to solve them
    • Improve efficiency, scalability, maintainability and stability of our systems
    • Help build Upsie company technical standards and excellence
    • Help form the company culture as we grow

    Required Skills/Experiences

    • Have been a key contributor to launching multiple products to real customers at every stage in the development process
    • Experience creating, maintaining, scaling and extending APIs
    • Experience deploying, maintaining and managing cloud backend servers in Azure, AWS, Heroku, Rackspace or similar
    • Be able to traverse our full stack while having your core strength creating, maintaining, scaling and extending our APIs, backend architecture, and storage
    • Advanced SQL query construction abilities for performance tuning and code clarity
    • Familiarity and experience implementing secure coding practices. Some experience writing code for a regulated industry is a plus
    • A working knowledge of Git
    • Fundamental appreciation for agile processes
    • Be curious, engaged, approachable and self-reliant
    • Experience inheriting and evolving existing codebases
    • We're using Angular for our front end and migrating away from .NET/C# to a Node backend. Fullstack javascript experience desired, excitement required.

    Preferred Skills

    • Interest in mentorship
    • Experience across open source and Microsoft stack
    • Experience switching from another hosting provider to/from Heroku
