    Job Description

    Job Purpose

    This is a production job in which the Technician is expected to produce standards quickly and accurately using weighing and pipetting techniques. All procedures will be performed according to all safety requirements. The Technician will be working with concentrated acids and Organic solvents to make trace metal products. This position may require creating or generating waste that is hazardous by regulation or that must be handled as hazardous waste regulations and company procedures require.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    • Prepare aqueous and/or metal-organic stock and custom products per Quality System Procedures.
    • Follows standard operating procedures.
    • Operates basic laboratory equipment.
    • Follows, as well as possesses, strong written and verbal instructions.
    • Follows complex procedures and operations.
    • Demonstrates consistent, reliable performance.
    • Works effectively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
    • Exhibits organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrates math and computer skills.
    • Meets production goals.
    • Learn quickly and is easily trainable.
    • Maintains the ability to problem solve and apply retained knowledge.
    • Exemplify the LGC core values on a day-to-day basis.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Ability to learn chemical nomenclature, properties, and proper handling of chemicals.
    • Focus is on Aqueous products and chemist is expected to learn the Aqueous product line production.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma.
    • 2 year Associates degree in a physical science (Chemistry, Biology or Physics) is preferred or 2+ years of relevant experience.
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to problem solve and maintain critical thinking.
    • Ability to use lab equipment safely and correctly.
