English to Norwegian (Bokmål) Translator with Math Degree
Job Description
Talent should understand the math-solving process and be familiar with math terminology and content taught from the lowest grades up to college. The targeted market is Norway, so the translations need to be adapted to the school system of that locale.
The work involves several types of tasks:
The first two tasks will be performed in the client’s translation tool.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A college math degree and familiarity with material from lower elementary grades all the way to college, including the following: elementary math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and additional high school and college math material
- Proficiency in LaTeX
- Native-level proficiency in Norwegian (Bokmål dialect)
- Fluency in English
- Ability to commit 15 hours each week to this project
- Access to a PC with an up-to-date version of Chrome
- A personal or business Gmail address
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience teaching or tutoring math
- Experience translating math content
Payment will be issued per correct item. The maximum bids that will be accepted are $0.11 per word translated, $0.91 per hint attached, and $6.40 per question answered. No Upwork fees will be deducted from your earnings, meaning you will receive the full bid amount. We will keep track of the work you complete and pay you on a biweekly basis. Milestones will only be used to set the terms of the contract, and you will not need to request payments, as you will be paid biweekly for work you complete.
The volume of work each week may fluctuate from 0-15 hours. When the volume is steady, we expect a commitment of 15 hours/week. You may work at times when you are available, but some of the hours should be during traditional business days (Monday-Friday).
