Trade Show Sales Manager - Fashion/Apparel Industry

Looking to expand our sales team, Urban Expositions is seeking a Sales Manager for our Fashion & Apparel show. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth, exceeding sales targets and establishing and building relationships within the fashion & apparel portfolio. To be successful in a sales role at Urban, the candidate must be motivated to prospect and generate leads, close sales and deliver great results for our market-leading events.
In general, the Sales Manager is accountable to:
Develop, maintain and interact through a range of communication channels (e.g. phone, email, in-person, mail) to a broad scope of new and existing customers and partners to increase sales and meet assigned sales targets
Identify revenue opportunities and develop sales strategies to close deals
Engage in professional and friendly conversations with prospects to close deal and identify additional opportunities
Achieve productivity standards and adhere to all selling process practices and standards (including inputting accurate and complete data into systems)
Maintain awareness of industry trends, climate, players, distribution and issues
Respond to requests from potential partners for information
Sell at competitive shows and prepare competitive show reports in an accurate and timely manner
Ensure signed contracts and payments in full for all space reservations or advertising are completed within deadlines and guidelines
Participate in training programs and role plays
Troubleshoot problems and respond to customer needs, challenges and concerns
Keep abreast of competitive environment
Support the sale of advertising/sponsorship products/programs to Exhibitors and following through on all requirements for the added value sales
Work closely with the Operations and Marketing teams to ensure a high level of customer/partner satisfaction
Be willing to attend assigned show(s)
What’s Required to Succeed as the Sales Manager:
A minimum of 2 years sales or sales support experience, preferably in the trade show industry, depending on the level of the position being filled
Will consider the right person with 2 years in customer service, marketing or training role in the trade show industry
Prefer candidate with hands-on experience in the fashion/apparel industry
Telephone or related sales experience
Knowledge of trade show industry preferred
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Intangible sales experience a plus
Strong customer focus
Strong self-starter with exceptional negotiation and closing skills
Strong communication (verbal and written), judgment and listening skills
Must be creative; offers a fresh prospective and new ideas; ability to think outside of the box
Basic computer skills
