    Job description

    Clean and safe housing is a basic need. The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) is looking for a General Maintenance Technician, to provide general maintenance and repair at our 42-unit permanent supportive housing site in West Seattle. The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall curb appeal of the community, upkeep of the physical aspects of the property, and general apartment maintenance and repair. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to groundskeeping, trash disposal, and general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures, etc., installation of appliances, apartment turnovers, etc.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    HS Diploma or GED required;

    2+ years of hands-on general maintenance experience preferably in an apartment complex; trade school or industry experience is preferred

    Ability to read and write in standard English

    Excellent oral and written communication

    Basic computer proficiency

    Ability to work independently, multi-task, and set priorities

    Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences in a professional manner

    Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges

    ULMS Total Compensation

    ** Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period

    Medical - $8,325 per year

    Dental - $570 per year

    Vision - $65.04 per year

    Group Life & ADD - $39.90 per year.
