Director of Fund Development
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of a Director of Fund Development is to develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan that includes major gifts, institutional giving, planned giving, and donor engagement events. This involves identifying and cultivating major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors, and planning and executing special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization. The Director, Fund Development must work closely with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop fundraising goals and strategies that advance the mission and work of the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience fund raising management and marketing
Grant writing experience
Ability to build effective business relationships with corporate and donor communities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Effective relationship building with volunteers, senior level community leaders, donors and staff.
Ability to work with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
Strong and engaging verbal and written communication skills
Strong, results-oriented collaboration, project management and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects including setting and changing priorities while ensuring quality and timeliness
Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule when necessary consistent with the demands and needs of the executive team, volunteers, community leaders and related special events
ULMS TOTAL COMPENSATION ** Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period
