    The EcoDistrict is a community-driven effort that promotes socially equitable, environmentally resilient, and culturally vibrant neighborhoods. Supported by the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, EcoDistrict focuses on making the most densely populated urban village in the Pacific Northwest livable and sustainable for all people by piloting new and innovative ideas at the neighborhood level that can then be scaled to city or regional levels.

    The EcoDistrict Community Development Associate will support the development of EcoDistrict projects in collaboration with other EcoDistrict staff and partners. The associate will use a range of tools, including policy advocacy, community organizing, research, and capacity building, to support a range of projects, which may include but are not limited to:

    Street Activation and Public Space Design

    Land use, urban design, and transportation projects

    Community and Environmental Resilience

    Education and Health Programs

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Education and demonstrated passion for community development, urban planning, equity and social justice, and/or environmental advocacy

    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; and advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, project management, and organization skills

    Ability to work independently and a collaborative working style

    Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

    Comfort engaging with racially and economically diverse community members

    Self-motivation and ability to work independently

    Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis

    An understanding of land use, housing, public health, and transportation policy and/or the ability to quickly learn about policy issues in new areas

    The flexibility to attend virtual evening meetings

    Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of experience in architecture, community development, economic development, urban planning, green building, or equivalent combination of education and experience

    ULMS Total Compensation

    ** Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period

    Medical - $8,325 per year
