Shelter Coordinator - Part-Time/On-Call

Safe, habitable, and affordable housing is a basic need. The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) Housing Department provides direct service programs and resources to individuals and families through shelters, transitional housing, rental assistance, and homeownership programs. ULMS Housing Department is actively seeking employees for part-time Shelter Coordinator for our young adult shelter located in the Central Area of Seattle
Shelter Coordinator - (PT/On-Call) - scheduled 1-2 days per week but may fill in for additional hours as needed and available. Shifts are 12 hours - 8 am - 8 pm or 8 pm - 8 am.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
HS Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Service or related field is preferred
1+ years of case management experience preferred
Ability to read and write in standard English
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to prepare communications, such as memos, emails, reports, and other correspondence
Prior experience working with young adults between the ages of 18-24 in a service capacity is strongly desired
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office - Excel and Outlook
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and set priorities
Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences
Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions based upon the analysis of individual unique factors
Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
Experience in working with ethnic/minorities
Non-profit experience strongly preferred
Must be able/willing to obtain food handlers card within the first 2 weeks of employment
ULMS Total Compensation – Part-Time Employees
PTO accrued at 0.07361 per hour worked
