Construction Estimator – San Diego
Construction Estimator with growth potential! A successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to construct single family, multifamily, and commercial developments ranging from garden style to high-rise apartment communities.
RESPONSIBILITES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyze drawings and specifications
Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for stipulated price, design-build, and construction/project management formatted projects
Complete budgeting and scheduling for projects and track
Formulate cost break-down from estimates and for project progress
Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to project
Maintain relationships with sub-contractors and clients
Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services
Monitor progress, requisition change orders, and identify any potential risks
Organize sub-contractors’ quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders
Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing
Provide clear detailed quantity take offs
Understand contractual terms and conditions
Work with and address concerns of field personnel
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in building science, civil engineering, construction management or construction science – A PLUS but not required
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the construction field in similar or related position
Previous experience estimating projects into the $ 5+ million range
Experience in the multifamily construction industry
Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design
Exceptional communication skills
Able to plan, organize and follow through on work
Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations
Lift up to 50 pounds
Observe all company procedures and safety rules
Self starter, friendly, personable, and professional demeanor always
Valid driver's license
Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction
SALARY: Hourly/Competitive, based on experience. Work schedule: Monday thru Friday, hours 7 am to 4 pm.
