Karsten & Moore Auto Group is a fast-growing used car dealership specializing in Teslas and EVs. We are looking for an experienced Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist / Online Auction Buyer to help source high-quality inventory from online auctions and wholesale channels. This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who understands used vehicle values, auction condition reports, announcements, transportation costs, recon risk, title issues, market days supply, pricing strategy, and how to buy inventory that can retail profitably. The right person is analytical, fast-moving, detail-oriented, and comfortable making smart buying decisions in a competitive auction environment. Responsibilities: • Source used vehicle inventory from online auctions and wholesale platforms • Review auction listings, condition reports, announcements, photos, AutoCheck/Carfax history, title status, mileage, options, market pricing, and recon risk • Identify profitable buy opportunities based on retail market value, expected recon cost, transportation cost, days-to-sale, and dealership inventory needs • Set target bids and bidding strategy for each unit • Bid on vehicles through approved auction platforms • Track purchased units from auction purchase through transport, arrival, inspection, and frontline approval • Work with management to refine buying criteria, target models, trim levels, price points, and risk tolerance • Communicate clearly with the recon, sales, and management teams about incoming inventory • Help avoid bad buys by catching structural announcements, title issues, frame/unibody concerns, odometer issues, battery/EV concerns, prior damage, and other risk factors • Stay current on used EV/Tesla market trends, auction pricing, retail pricing, and inventory demand Qualifications: • Previous experience buying used vehicles for a dealership, wholesaler, rental company, auction operation, or automotive group • Strong understanding of online auctions such as Manheim, Adesa, OVE, ACV, SmartAuction, BacklotCars, or similar platforms • Ability to evaluate condition reports, announcements, vehicle history reports, and market pricing quickly • Strong understanding of wholesale-to-retail profit margins • Comfortable with spreadsheets, DMS tools, CRMs, market pricing tools, and online auction platforms • High attention to detail and strong follow-through • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where pricing and inventory decisions move quickly • Strong communication skills • Must be trustworthy, disciplined, and able to follow buying guidelines Compensation: $65,000 - $90,000
