Position Purpose

Runs the systems the process cannot live without, including steam, cooling, compressed air, process water and effluent treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, nitrogen supply and process water treatment.
• Operate the wastewater treatment system and maintain discharge within permit limits.
• Perform utility water chemistry testing and chemical dosing for boiler and cooling systems.
• Maintain compliance records required by environmental permits and coordinate with the Environmental Compliance Specialist.
• Monitor utility consumption and support energy efficiency efforts.
• Perform first line maintenance on utility equipment and support planned outages.
• Respond to utility upsets that threaten process stability.

Required Qualifications

• Three or more years operating industrial utilities or wastewater systems.
• Texas boiler operator or wastewater operator license, or willingness to obtain within twelve months.
• Working knowledge of water chemistry and chemical handling.
• Willingness to work a twelve hour rotating shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Both boiler and wastewater licensing.
• Industrial pretreatment and biological treatment experience.
