Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and directional drills for fiber optic and telecommunications utility installation.
• Perform manual labor, including trenching, hand-digging, and setting utility Hand Holes as required.
• Assist in the installation, and maintenance of fiber optic cables and networks.
• Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and utility maps to locate underground utilities, ensuring safe fiber optic placement.
• Follow safety guidelines and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Work closely with the construction team, project managers, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
• Perform restoration work, including asphalt and concrete patching, landscape restoration, and cleanup.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fiber optic or telecommunications utility construction preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Experience working around underground utilities and knowledge of utility locating practices.
• Basic knowledge of fiber optic cable handling, installation, and splicing is a plus.
• Valid Texas driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and utility construction best practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
• 50% (Required) Traveling
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
