Utility Coordinator - Civil Engineering - Base Salary to 30.00/hour - Indianapolis, IN
AllSearch has a client that strives to provide the best results for civil engineering services to government and businesses within their community. They are looking for a Utility Coordinator to support and manage utility coordination activities for local, INDOT, and LPA infrastructure projects, including roadways, trails, bridges, airports, and water resource projects. This role focuses on tracking utility coordination activities, maintaining documentation, and ensuring utility-related milestones stay on schedule. The Utility Coordinator works closely with internal project teams, public agencies, and utility companies to support on-time project delivery.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Utility Coordinators, Project Managers, municipal clients, INDOT representatives, and utility company staff to support accurate and timely utility coordination.
Maintain utility correspondence logs for active projects with minimal supervision.
Prepare, submit, and document Indiana 811 Design and Dig Tickets.
Track utility correspondence deadlines, file downloads, and responses for major request items prior to scheduled due dates.
Follow up with utility companies when files are not downloaded or responses are overdue.
Update Project-Level and Overall Utility Relocation Gantt Charts to ensure relocations remain on schedule.
Track prerequisite activities for utility relocations, including right-of-way clearing, staking, and related field activities.
Proactively contact utility companies to confirm and remind them of upcoming action items.
Maintain accurate utility involvement lists based on 811 Design and Survey Locate Tickets.
Assist with drafting and distributing utility coordination letters, notices to proceed, and related correspondence.
Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within project budgets.
Follow established QC/QA procedures and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent professional experience.
Working knowledge of civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
