The Utility Driver performs transport duties within the location's yard. Regular tasks may include: shuttling trailers in drive lot as needed, pulling preloaded trailers and replacing with empty trailers for shipping and receiving, keeping lots organized and orderly, performing maintenance and safety checks on vehicles, and filling daily move sheets for managers.
Safely operate motor vehicle to transport trailers. Drivers will adhere to speed limits, and use safe driving practices; keep safety top of mind at all times and prevent co-workers from transporting goods unsafely. Report all safety concerns and all accidents and near misses immediately. Participate in safety inspections and accident investigations. Perform maintenance and/or inspection (brakes, lights, etc.) on vehicle.
In a timely manner transport trailers to adhere to production and shipping schedules. Understand and work with established standards to deliver the highest and most consistent levels of excellent customer service. New products are shipped on schedule, in full and meet agreed upon quality standards
Actively engage in keeping processes in Shipping and Receiving up to established standards. Continuously look for ways to improve overall efficiency within shuttling and transport duties; adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
Improve at least one skill each year as agreed with supervisor. Deliver on performance against outcomes.
Develop the skills needed to attain the desired career path within the organization. Individuals are responsible for identifying their own career goals and communicating same to their supervisor.
Continually seek ways to transport trailers in an efficient manner. Continually seek ways to improve performance as measured by departmental Key Performance Indicators.
Perform job in a responsible manner and in compliance with Company procedures and applicable rules and regulations. Record hours, ensure Department of Transportation hour limitations are not exceeded on a daily and weekly basis. Maintain licensure.

Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time

High School diploma or GED equivalent
At least 21 years of age
12 months Continuous growth in each position
Previous experience in manufacturing, landscaping or warehouse environment
Ability to operate Industrial equipment as required.
Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
A valid Class A CDL
Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
