    Unified has an immediate opening for a Utility Engineer. This job operates in a professional office environment in central Scottsdale and could include management of properties throughout the Phoenix Metro area, requiring travel to properties as needed.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • General Maintenance: Perform routine tasks including lighting repairs (bulb/ballast replacement), ceiling tile changes, and basic painting or drywall touch-ups.
    • Meter Reading: Read and record sub-meter readings for electrical and water sub-meters.
    • HVAC Support: Assist with preventative maintenance, such as changing filters, cleaning coils, and inspecting belts on air handling units.
    • Plumbing: Address minor issues including unclogging drains, repairing faucets, and monitoring restroom fixtures.
    • Tenant Requests: Respond promptly to comfort calls (hot/cold requests) and general maintenance work orders.
    • Safety Inspections: Conduct daily building rounds to identify and report potential hazards or mechanical failures.

    Qualifications

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; trade school background is a plus.
    • Experience: 1–2 years in general maintenance (construction, apartment maintenance, or DIY mechanical experience).
    • Technical Skills: Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools. Ability to read basic floor plans is helpful.
    • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight mechanical spaces.
    • Licensing: Valid Arizona Driver's License required.
