    Title: Utility Worker

    Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:15 PM - 10:35 PM, Monday - Friday

    Salary: $19.27/hr

    Utility Worker Role:

    The Utility Worker is responsible for performing a variety of assembly and operational tasks across different work areas to support transformer manufacturing. This role exists to ensure production continuity, operational flexibility, and the timely completion of high-quality products within the plant.

    Utility Worker Responsibilities:

    • Perform final assembly of transformer leads, terminals, and enclosures up to 75 KVA, including welding and the encapsulation and potting processes
    • Set up and operate various production machines, woodworking equipment, and other shop tools as required
    • Work proficiently in various assigned work areas to meet dynamic production needs, excluding testing operations
    • Undertake temporary assignments in different jobs to cover employee absences or address specific production requirements
    • Assist other team members and departments as directed by the supervisor to ensure smooth workflow
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
    • Adhere strictly to all company safety rules, utilize provided safety systems and devices, and perform all work in a safe manner

    Utility Worker Reporting Relationships:

    The Utility Worker will report to the Production Supervisor. This role does not have any direct reports.

    About You:

    • Read and accurately interpret technical drawings and transformer specifications independently
    • Proficient with MIG/TIG Welding
    • Proficiently use a variety of hand tools common in a manufacturing or assembly environment
    • Assemble all types and sizes of transformer units up to 75 KVA accurately and efficiently
    • Understand and consistently implement all safety procedures, particularly when handling and moving units
    • Effectively identify and repair defective units to meet stringent quality standards
    • Follow all established quality control programs and procedures to minimize defects and ensure product integrity
    • Possess the capability to assemble high-frequency units according to precise specifications
    • Understand and diligently implement checklists and specific instructions for customer requests
    • Implement all necessary processes involved in the creation of encapsulated coils
    • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work in any department to cover for absences or meet fluctuating production needs
