Entry Level Systems Support Specialist - REMOTE:

To help us continue our growth at VA Claims Insider (VACI), we’re seeking anindividual with some experience as Systems Support Specialist to join our highly skilled team of world-changers. Ideal candidates should be someone just getting their start in the IT world as this is an entry level position. If your only experience involves your course/project work in college, that's okay. We will train you on how to do most of this. We just want to know that you have working knowledge of the requirements below. You'll be taking on the challenges from updating our many websites, to connecting new and updated domains through our cloud based server, and Cloudflare platform.

If you are a military veteran, even better! You will be expected to be resourceful, problem solvers, hardworking, but alos set and achieve goals. We’re a startup, so you’ll have autonomy but be expected to manage tasks and responsibilities to meet the department and company goals.

Taking on the challenges from updating our many websites, to connecting new and updated domains through our cloud based server, and Cloudflare platform. Additional responsibilities of the Systems Support Specialist include network monitoring, some hosting infrastructure. Specifically relating to the resolving of system issues as they arise for a 99%+ uptime. You will have experience with Tech performance management (IT systems & Web Apps), enterprise network administration, system security, data protection regulations and the ability to juggle multiple projects through your individual, and team efforts.

Systems Support Specialist Responsibilities:

Daily management and maintenance of multiple WordPress websites

Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability

Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

Experience with Cloudflare DNS systems for the configuring, authenticating, and approving of Name Servers, A & Text records for domain control.

Management of hosting environment, including database administration, and scaling an application to support load changes

Setup and administration of backups, restore points, performance, links, security checks, and optimization settings / reports (Google Lighthouse)

Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform

Basic understanding experience with Google Workspace, VPS, WordPress, Wordfence, Manage WP, and other related platforms.

Systems Support Specialist Requirements:

Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, and data storage systems

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize

Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices

1-3 years of relevant experience in a customer focused position involving technical knowledge of a companies' products and services or relevant college projects & coursework

ASc in Computer Science, similar field or 1-3 years of relevant work experience

This is a full-time position, 40+ hours per week. 100% work-from-home opportunity as we are a virtual company. No travel requirements.
