    This position is still at the proposal stage and is awaiting award.

    This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

    International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Vascular Surgeon diagnose and treat diseases affecting the vascular system, including arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels. This role involves performing surgical and minimally invasive procedures to restore blood flow, manage vascular conditions, and improve patients' overall health and quality of life.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose and evaluate patients with vascular conditions through physical examinations, imaging studies, and laboratory tests.
    • Perform a variety of surgical procedures, including open surgeries and minimally invasive endovascular interventions, to treat conditions such as aneurysms, arterial blockages, and venous disorders.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, considering both surgical and non-surgical options.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as cardiologists and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Monitor and manage postoperative recovery, including addressing complications and providing follow-up care.
    • Educate patients and their families about vascular health, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to improve vascular function.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, procedures performed, and treatment outcomes in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
    • Stay current with advancements in vascular surgery techniques and technologies through continuous education and professional development.
    • Participate in clinical research and trials to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practices in vascular surgery.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements/Certifications:

    • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Education Required:

    • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.

    Other Special Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
    • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
