Job Description – Accountant

Job Requirements

• Provide advice in the planning, execution, reporting, and analysis of various funding streams.

• Analyze, review, identify accounting problem areas, and develop solutions to improve operating program effectiveness.

• Maintain operating accounting systems, including support related to financial management, financial and program analysis, on-going financial reporting, and documentation of policies and procedures.

• Perform reconciliation of spent plans to actual obligations.

• Track and analyze financial performance measures to monitor overall agency performance. Conduct financial analyses and audits for foreign and/or domestic businesses.

• Review, analyze and validate industry financial data Resolve accounting discrepancies in reported data.

Required Competencies and Education

• Minimum of one year experience for the junior roles; or CPA/MBA for senior personnel. Preferable CDC experience or other HHS OpDiv’s.

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or a graduate degree of approximately three years of related work experience.

• Knowledge of FAR, and Generally Accepted Account Principles (GAAP).

• Organizational skills with keen attention to detail and documentation; ability to multi-task and seek assistance from senior managers.

• Strong written/verbal communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork.

Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Background Investigation.
