    Job Description

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: VAAS Professionals is looking for a Data Manager to provide technical assistance through statistical support for the design, development and implementation of population-based surveys; support data quality assurance and management standards, provide expertise on study design, data interpretation and more. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE MEDICAL/PUBLIC HEALTH FIELD!

    WHAT YOU’LL DO: As a Data Manager, you will be responsible for the following tasks: 1.Serving as a technical advisor on global data analysis projects that encompass a wide range of advanced topics including statistical methods, research and study design.

    2.Utilizing statistics and research methods commonly used in scientific, surveillance or epidemiological research to analyze, interpret and report on the public health burden of noncommunicable diseases.

    3.Maintaining the set data quality assurance and management standards and providing expertise on enhancement of data analysis and quality assurance of the data coordinating center.

    4.Providing technical support, manage and assist partners to conduct large-scale international mobile phone and household-based surveys (as needed)

    5.Assisting in the writing of comprehensive statistical reports that include analysis, evaluation and resolutions of noncommunicable disease prevention and control issues. Collaborate with analysts and statisticians in global settings to develop joint analyses and publications.

    6.Collaborating internally and externally with public health experts to ensure that valid research findings are disseminated and applied to noncommunicable disease prevention and control activities.

    7.Preparing statistical reports, graphs, charts, tables and narrative material to be used in publishing the surveys and results of studies and in giving oral and poster presentations.

    8.Utilizing knowledge and experience in survey methodology and statistical methods to ensure quality assurance and dissemination of survey findings.

    9.Providing monthly and routine reports to the tasks progress, activities etc.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • Master's Degree in computer science and/or public health or related field (biostatistics, demography, epidemiology) • At least 4 years of public health science training and experience (required) • Strong experience in surveillance (e.g., survey statistics, demography and epidemiology) and data management including scientific data analysis and report writing skills. • 4+ years of experience in primary and secondary population-based survey data analysis. • 4+ years of experience in development of sample designs and the calculations and application of sampling weights. • 4+ years of experience in survey implementation, sampling and weighting methodology, data analysis and scientific publications is desirable. • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of SAS, STATA, SPSS, SUDAAN, and/or other data management software. • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail • Ability to manage and lead training sessions for multiple teams • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
