Vaughn & Melton Consulting Engineers, Inc. – North Carolina, is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer in our Raleigh, NC office. The responsibilities will consist of but not limited to: project development, preparation of bridge design calculations and construction documents, and also routine NBIS bridge inspections.  This person will coordinate with engineering staff and project managers, and collaborate with team and other discipline members on project development.

Qualifications/Experience of ideal candidate:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer with experience in Structural Engineering
• Certified Bridge Inspection Team Lead (or willing to obtain)
• Ability to manage and coordinate assignments with multi-disciplinary teams
• Thorough understanding of NCDOT’s guidelines/procedures for NC Office
• Knowledge of MicroStation
• Experience with maintaining and developing client and team relationships
• Experience with NCDOT, Municipalities, Railroads and other approving agencies for NC Office
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
