    Vaughn & Melton Consulting Engineers, Inc. – Georgia, is currently seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer with 10-12 years of experience in our Kennesaw, GA office. The work will consist of project development, the preparation of design plans and construction documents, and project management of transportation projects for a variety of clients including GDOT. This person will mentor and oversee entry level personnel, coordinate with engineering staff, develop plans, reports and presentations, and assist with market development and client relations.

    The position requires the following qualifications/ requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
    • Licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia
    • GSWCC Level II Design professional
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in actual roadway design and 5 being in supervisory/project management duties
    • Project management experience with GDOT and/or local municipalities
    • Ability to manage complex transportation design projects and coordinate assignments with multi-disciplinary teams
    • Thorough understanding of GDOT’s Plan Development Process guidelines/procedures
    • Knowledge of MicroStation V8i
    • Knowledge of Inroads design Software
    • Experience with maintaining and developing teaming relationships
    • Experience with proposal and/or fee development
    • Understanding and ability to develop GDOT project scope and budgets
    • Ability to build new client relationships while maintaining current client relationships
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
