Founded by Bob Langer and Dan Anderson, this Boston-based company has a new platform technology for novel, targeted and ground-breaking therapeutics for various high unmet need indications.Adipose Tissue – Metabolic/Inflammatory Disease Intern (Part-Time, Remote) We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a target discovery intern. The preferred candidate will be a motivated PhD student or post-doctoral fellow specializing in adipose tissue biology or metabolic/inflammatory disease. This is a part-time role and work will be conducted remotely. The candidate will contribute to the assessment of therapeutically viable approaches for treatment of metabolic or inflammatory disease. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following· Reviewing primary literature to identify molecular drivers of metabolic/inflammatory disease· Analyzing large-scale biomedical databases to explore human genetic mutations or SNPs associated with disease· Building target proposal packages, including biological rationale, tractability, risks, etc. and developing experimental strategies to assess newly proposed targets via in vitro and in vivo experimentation· Collaborating with scientists across the company and presenting proposals to scientific and leadership teams.Qualifications· Currently pursuing doctoral or post-doctoral training, with deep understanding of adipose tissue biology and metabolic/inflammatory disease· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent documentation skills, strong organizational skills· Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams.· Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environmentBiotech NewCo requires that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof thereof, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
