Position Overview:
As a vCIO/vCISO, you will serve as a strategic partner for our clients, helping them to navigate the complexities of information technology and cybersecurity. You will establish and execute IT strategies that align with business objectives, oversee the security of their data and systems, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a unique blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and implement IT strategies that align with clients’ business goals.
- Conduct assessments to identify technology needs and recommend solutions.
- Formulate and oversee IT budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
2. Cybersecurity Management:
- Establish and maintain security frameworks, policies, and procedures to safeguard client data.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Develop incident response plans and lead security incident response efforts.
3. Advisory Services:
- Provide expert advice on technology trends, solutions, and best practices.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on all IT-related matters.
- Educate clients on cybersecurity awareness and train their teams to mitigate risks.
4. Compliance and Regulatory Guidance:
- Ensure clients meet compliance requirements related to data protection and privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and regulatory assessments.
5. Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select technology vendors, managing relationships throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
6. Performance Monitoring:
- Develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness of IT initiatives and security posture.
- Regularly report on IT performance and security status to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in IT management/senior leadership roles, with a focus on security.
- Proven experience as a vCIO, vCISO, or in similar advisory roles.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS), and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CISO, CISSP, CISM, and ITIL are highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
