VDC Coordinator — Solve Problems in the Model, Not in the Field
Reno, NV | Full-Time, Exempt | $75,000 – $95,000
The Opportunity
Every clash you catch in the model is a change order that never happens. Our client — one of the Southwest's largest general contractors, with 50 years of building and projects up to $100M+ — is hiring a VDC Coordinator for their Reno office. You'll run day-to-day BIM/VDC workflows: federated model management, clash detection, coordination meetings, and the field-ready visuals that help superintendents build it right the first time. Clear growth path toward advanced VDC and management roles.
Why You'll Love It
- Field-first VDC: Your models directly support superintendents and crews, not just pretty renderings
- Growth trajectory: The company wants coordinators who develop into VDC leaders
- Serious project mix: Tenant improvements through $100M+ ground-up work
- Full benefits + Nevada: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, parental leave, PTO — and no state income tax
What You'll Do
- Manage and update federated BIM models from designer and trade partner input
- Run clash detection and coordination analysis; track issues through resolution
- Clean, organize, and validate trade models; maintain versioning and data standards
- Support multi-trade coordination meetings with views, clash reports, and visuals
- Assist with construction sequencing, phasing, and site logistics modeling
- Produce 2D/3D visuals and animations; lead model walkthroughs with field staff
- Perform model quality checks and uphold BIM standards and workflows
- Help test and deploy new VDC tools; provide software support to project teams
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related — or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years in BIM/VDC, construction technology, or coordination roles
- Commercial construction project experience
- Understanding of trade coordination and construction sequencing
- Preferred: Revit and Navisworks proficiency, Revizto or similar issue-tracking platforms, site logistics/4D exposure, Trimble Field, SketchUp, Synchro, or Fuzor
- Detail-oriented, clear communicator, proactive problem-solver
- Ability to travel to projects outside the local market when needed
