Job Overview

The company is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with a strong technology and financial management background to help implement and operationalize solutions designed to position executives with the knowledge to manage and communicate the cost, quality, and value of IT Services. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. This role involves close collaboration with IT and Finance professionals at all levels within the organization, as well as working closely with the vendor to assure the preferred modeling outcomes are achieved.

Role and Responsibilities

As the primary technical contact, this position will be the expert of products/tools (Apptio, SQL, SSIS, PowerBI) we employ for IT Financial Management and intimately know how they are configured for use within the department.

The IT FM BI Developer must understand how the model works, but is also capable of presenting, configuring and understanding the following:

• Full understanding of the process for data operations to our IT FM tool (Apptio).

• Formulaic logic. Candidate will be required to implement string parsing, nested if statements/case statements, look ups, indexing etc.

• Visualization. Candidate will be required to implement visualizations using multiple UI tools based on ambiguous requirements.

• Understands how our applications manage and view the raw data provided by the various source systems. ( SSIS knowledge, SQL DML, Stored Procedures )

• Operationalize data monthly by loading, validating and reviewing on a timely basis.

• Maintain the inventory of source systems; develop the documentation around those systems and data dictionaries.

• Troubleshoot data issues and understands how data feeds impact the application. ( Apptio Troubleshooting skills )

• Apptio this typically requires going through multiple layers of data transforms through the UI, so someone who enjoys discovery, if in a methodical fashion, is a better fit.

• Able to work with system owners to develop new methodologies for data extraction and validation.

• Import and transform data from systems of record such as the ledger system, fixed assets, the HR system, SAP, external BI data sources, etc.

• Able to gather finance, reporting or other non-technical functional, business requirements and interpret the requirements into technical deliverables, which includes a working data model where referential integrity in large data sets and object oriented design is needed.

• Able to develop and configure reports and incorporate changes to the model based on business requirements.

• Candidate must be able to translate business requirements to data, model, and front end visualization without business having to prescribe technical and functional specificities.

• Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related field.

• Strong quantitative and analytic skills for financial modeling and analysis.
