VENN is looking for a Segment Producer/Writer to execute creative content around a variety of topics in the world of esports. Reporting to the Supervising Producer and Executive Producer, as well as working closely with our Production teams, this role will be responsible for the execution of daily written and produced content covering an array of topics across multiple leagues/games, with an emphasis on League of Legends esports. Willingness to have fun and take risks is key in this position!

In this role, you will be required to help write scripts, produce segments, and be able to assist in the field and at off site interviews as directed, and work well within a team environment. Must be comfortable working across all media including on air, digital, and social media.

Essential Responsibilities

• Help write creative short, mid, and long form segments under the direction of the Supervising Producer and Executive Producer as assigned, as well as work closely with Production team members to ensure host expectations are met, and post/deliverables are executed on time
• Own, write, produce, and manage assigned content and segments
• Must have writing and producing experience.
• Be able to write scripts, be resourceful in the procurement of props, photos, music, and video elements, and book/prepare guests
• Assist in the production of original and engaging written pieces for both broadcast and digital
• Participate in content creation from conceptualization through the various stages of execution, to include: Research/Writing/Studio/Field Work/Post and Voiceover direction.
• Assist in booking guests and stories
• Identify and pitch story opportunities, finding the unique storytelling angle while maintaining factual accuracy
• Must demonstrate passion for esports and active participation and awareness of the importance of social media to the landscape. 
• Flexibility in role within the team and within the company, including working across multiple formats and departments as needed. 
• Strong communicator who is able to work closely with team members and talent, take feedback constructively, and contribute to an environment of communication and accountability
• Creatively ambitious, willing to take risks and have fun

Qualifications/Requirements

• ROBUST KNOWLEDGE OF AND PASSION FOR ESPORTS. 

• Minimum 2 years of professional production/writing experience with a news, journalism, or other relevant entertainment experience required.

• Awareness of trends, viral videos, and breaking esports news across all social media platforms

• An understanding of current trends in the industry, social media, OTT, etc. 

• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and multitask a wide range of responsibilities

• Creative thinker with the skills and imagination to produce content that engages viewers including games, transformations, and stories about real people

• Ability to shoot/edit basic material for multiple platforms highly desired

• Ability to follow direction and work independently when necessary

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines within a prescribed budget

• Can creatively write stunts, sketches, and other comedically focused video game/pop culture content.
