Baseball Hitting Instructor
Department: Player Development
Classification: 1099-Independent Contractor
Summary:
D-Bat Waco is currently seeking applicants for a Hitting Instructor in the Player Development Department. This hitting instructor will be responsible for the training and mentorship of young athletes with a specific focus on hitting.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
The Hitting Coach will be expected to:
Implement an organizational hitting development program
Plan daily hitting sessions for athletes scheduled
Analyze hitter performance using tools, reports and technology
Prescribe and monitor a development plan for each hitter based on areas of opportunity
Collaborate with affiliate Strength Coach and Performance staff to identify and act on solutions related to physical limitations/opportunities
Communicate plans, goals and progress with players and parents
Requirements / Qualifications:
Collegiate/Professional playing experience
Ability to understand and advocate for changes due to new information and or tools in baseball
Ability to work and communicate well with people
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in basic use of computers including Microsoft Office
Professional or collegiate playing experience is a plus
Additional Requirements / Qualifications:
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as bending, reaching, throwing, and swinging a bat.
