    Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Medical Scribe. As a Medical Scribe, you will work closely with physician to accurately document patient encounters and assist in medical record management. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the medical field.

    Responsibilities:

    • Accompany healthcare professionals during patient visits and accurately document medical histories, symptoms, physical exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans
    • Transcribe medical information into electronic health records (EHR) or other designated systems
    • Ensure timely completion of medical documentation and maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient information
    • Assist with medical record management, including filing, organizing, and retrieving patient records
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient workflow and ensure accurate documentation
    • Stay up-to-date with medical terminology, procedures, and coding guidelines

    Requirements:

    • Excellent typing skills with a minimum typing speed of [type] words per minute

    • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems or similar medical office software

    • Knowledge of medical documentation processes and procedures

    • Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology

    • Familiarity with emergency room (ER) procedures is a plus

    • Ability to transcribe medical information accurately and efficiently

    • Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and coding systems

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    • Knowledge and skill in using various computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook email and database software

    • Ability to organize and track multiple records and requests and follow through in a timely manner

    • Ability to handle confidential material while protecting its strict confidentiality

    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

    • Ability to perform under the pressure of frequent interruptions and distractions

    • Transportation/driving required to possible various locations

    Note: All positions at our company are paid positions.

    At the time if no medical scribe related work available in the office, this position will do medical assistant work. Major Duties/Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

    Greeting patients with a friendly, compassionate and professional demeanor

    Utilizing a desktop or laptop computer for data entry and daily office functions

    Scheduling appointments (i.e. new patient, follow-up, chemotherapy, outside providers)

    Answering phones/Scanning/Faxing/Emailing

    Entering patient demographic and insurance information accurately

    Verifying patient insurance and eligibility

    Checking patients in at time of arrival

    Collecting co-payments/deductibles/account balances

    Triage/Interview patients

    Vital Signs, injections, venipunctures, gather specimens and send to lab for processing timely

    Document chief complaint/medical history/update medication list

    Request/Gather all necessary data for each patient medical record (i.e. hospital/referring physician office/radiology and or lab records)

    Maintain a clean/organized work area including front office/triage area/examination/treatment rooms

    Prepare treatment rooms before each examination

    Properly drape patients if necessary

    Sterilize instruments and maintain all medical equipment

    Assist the physician with procedures and treatments

    Review physician orders/monitor prescriptions/request authorizations

    Stock office/medical supplies and request supply orders timely based on inventory needs

    Must be a team player, passionate about patient care, self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    Communicate efficiently with patients, physicians and other healthcare staff

    Other duties as directed by the physician and/or office manager

    Obtain insurance authorizations for all required exams and document approvals.

    Obtain information on the patient's eligibility status with the insurance company to ensure proper coverage and payment for services.

    Obtain patients' hospitalization information and enter necessary data into computer system.
