HEAD OF  ENGINEERING VIDA (www.shopvida.com) converts a creative vision into products in a matter of minutes and allows customers to purchase unique items from anywhere in the world. We manage a cutting-edge, just-in-time production process and work with over 100,000 artists from over 2,500 cities around the world. We are well-funded, backed by Cimpress, with previous investors including Google Ventures and Y Combinator. We are looking to hire a Head of Engineering / VP Engineering to help support our mission to rebuild commerce from the ground-up such that everyone in the ecosystem wins.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and manage world-class, agile software development team
• Lead projects from design through implementation and deployment
• Manage task planning and code reviews
• Audit and guide platform implementation
• Develop robust testing platforms and processes
• Plan for scalability in systems and infrastructure
• Lead development of processes and frameworks
• Create a positive work environment through clear expectations and accountability and motivating team to perform at world-class excellence
• Spend 70% of time coding, 30% managing product planning, engineering execution, and team management

SKILLS

• Java / Spring, Ruby / Sinatra, GoLang / Mux, Node.js / Koa, React / Redux, MongoDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Docker, Nginx, Google Cloud, Auth0, REST, WebGL, ImageMagick
• Image Processing and 2D/3D Rendering
• Computer Vision and Machine Learning
• Search Engine Optimization, Web & Mobile Development, Ecommerce
• Microservices Architecture
• 7+ years of engineering experience including managing teams (including off-shore teams), plus a degree in Computer Science or related field
